East Providence  

East Providence Parks and Recreation presents a free Summer Concert Series at Rose Larisa Memorial Park every Thursday evening beginning at 6pm between June 23 and August 11. Enjoy an assortment of music from Swing to Motown to Funk to Hip Hop. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are welcome. For proof of visit, bring a picture of yourself in front of the park gazebo to the next guided event. Feel free to use a camera phone or show us the picture on your digital camera.

Newport 

Join the Friends of Ballard Park for a Free Summer Concert and Movie Series at Newport’s Ballard Park. Sponsored by Jenkins Construction, concerts will be held on July 6, 13 and 20 and feature music for kids and families. Also enjoy family friendly movie showings August 10 and 17 beginning at dusk. All events take place outside, at the Quarry Meadow. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are welcome. Make sure to see a staff member at any event to get your Great Outdoors Pursuit card stamped as proof that you attended. Bring your card to the next guided event. Barrington

Enjoy a day in Barrington’s 245 acre Veterans Memorial Park. The heavily wooded park features beautiful Brickyard Pond with areas for picnicking, as well as walking and biking trails, a baseball field and benches. Parking/entrance is free and toilet facilities are available. As proof of visit, show us a photo of yourself in front of the Veterans Memorial Park entrance sign. Warwick

Fish for bass, trout, pickerel and sunfish or just enjoy the view from Gorton Pond’s new, handicapped accessible pier in Apponaug. The pier is one acre and features gazebos on either end. Also on the pond is small beach front providing access to freshwater swimming. As proof of your visit,Take a picture of yourself in a gazebo. Lincoln

Walk, jog or bike through Lincoln’s Wenscott Jogging Trail located between 310 and 312 Twin River Road. Follow the trail around the Wenscott Reservoir and then the end the day with a picnic. As proof of your visit to the trail, answer the following questions about the surroundings.

  1. What are the colors of the two picnic tables near the water’s edge at the half way point of the jogging loop?
  2. Including the two benches at the entrance gate, how many green benches with backs are there at the jogging trail?
