Fort Adams 

Self Guided Event  

   Take a tour of Newport’s historic Fort Adams, named after President John Adams and built in 1799. See where the soldiers lived, enter the casemates, explore the tunnel system, and climb the bastions for breathtaking views. Show your RI Great Outdoors Pursuit game card to receive a free tour of the Fort. Guided tours are conducted daily, every hour on the hour between 10am and 4pm. The majority of the tour is outside, involving one mile of walking, so be sure to wear proper footwear.
