Tilinghast Pond Management Area

Self Guided Event

Presented by The Nature Conservancy

Cool, babbling streams meander and fan out through the forest for two miles, then gather back together to feed the Wood River, Rhode Island’s most pristine waterway.
Wildlife abounds here: otters chase after trophy-sized bass, colorful songbirds from the tropics raise their young, and owls and coyotes pierce the quiet on moonlit nights. Welcome to Tillinghast Pond.
Conserved in perpetuity, these wild lands and waters are stunning in all seasons. The Nature Conservancy, RIDEM, and the people of West Greenwich are working together to promote public recreation and safeguard the area’s biodiversity.  We invite you to explore these woods, meadows, and ponds, and discover the exceptional natural beauty that awaits you.

Proof of visit: This will be posted at the end of a spur trail, overlooking the east side of Tillinghast Pond.  It is approximately a half-mile from the Plain Road parking lot or 1.5 miles from the Plain Meeting House Road parking lot.
