Parks and Recreation Division Headquarters

The Parks and Recreation Division Headquarters is located on the grounds of Snake Den State Park, and is easily accessed from Hartford Avenue. Snake Den State Park is a presently undeveloped 1000 acre parcel of public land which is located in Johnston and bordered by Hartford Avenue, Brown Avenue, Greenville Avenue, and Belfield Drive. At present the park can only be accessed from the Dame Farm parking area on Brown Avenue. Plans are currently under study for the development of the property into a more usable state recreation area. Also located within the park is  Dame Farm, a 60 acre working historical farm run by several generations of the Dame family.

Directions from Providence:

Take Interstate Rt. 95 to Rte. 10 South, to Route 6 West, to Rte. 295 North, Follow signs to Rte. 6 West - Hartford, At end of ramp turn right, DEM Headquarters is 1.2 miles ahead on the right.
